Say It Now
Have a compliment for your team? Say it. Say it now. Don’t wait until there’s occasion or until you feel ready. Don’t wait until you forget. Now, it’s a good time.
Reinforcing your team when they do something great is very important. It’s the easiest way to show them how important they are and how crucial their work is. It’s the easiest way to show them your positive opinion. It’s the easiest way to give them feedback (it’s much easier to give positive feedback only, right?)
When the team earned that say it. “Thank you. Good job. I’m happy to work with you.” Don’t forget to say that during team meeting, but don’t wait until that. If you meet them accidentally tell them. If you don’t meet them accidentally meet them on purpose. On purpose of telling them.
People need positive feedback and most of them lack it. Remember that when another time you’ll be too busy to say those two words.

Pawel hi. I agree strongly with your 'say it now' and 'say thank you' posts. I think it also helps to allow 'the thanked one' to know that your words of praise are read/heard by the eyes/ears of 'people who matter'. I use 'weekly messages' which the team and senior stakeholders receive. It's the 'project newspaper' and always a great motivator for your team members to see their names in lights. Nice blog!
I personally never miss an occasion to praise the team or team members on weekly team meetings (where my boss is also invited).
Yes, it is important to show the praise in front of "important persons". It's even better when they come with a "thank you" message. I'm lucky because I don't need to ask my boss to do that, but I wouldn't hesitate to ask him about that.
