A Problem as a Chance

by Pawel Brodzinski on December 19, 2008

We don’t consider problems we face at work as something positive. Things don’t go as they were planned. Standard actions aren’t enough to find a solution and bring back our work to its proper way. Additional effort is required. Thus we consider problems as bad things.

Which is wrong.

A problem is a chance. A chance to learn. A chance to improve things.

When I consider problem I had to face at work after some time I always think how much I could learn from the situation. I don’t think how I sweated blood any more. I rather care what was organized poorly and how it could have been improved. I try to label people “good,” “evil,” “helpful” or counterproductive” so I learn how to deal with them in the future. And whether to deal with them at all. I think which traps I fell into and how to avoid them.

Every problem is a chance either to learn something about you and your surroundings or to improve the way you work. All you need to see it is a bit of time.

As far as I remember I made the photo. And yes, she was aware I was taking a picture of her.
