Hal,

I find some great stuff via Twitter and that's cool. On the other hand I follow less outgoing links from blogs. You know - I don't have enough time to read everything.

For me, in terms of finding good writings, it's just a change of focus.

Social media generally can enable more communication but the problem isn't within tools we have at hand at the moment. Problem is within people who doesn't feel the urge to communicate more. If social media will help them to deal with the problem - that's great. However I think we're yet to see whether it works or not.

Let me be a skeptic for some time, but I honestly hope you'll succeed with your efforts.

I've made the claim to my colleagues that we will be better collaborators using social media tools -- blogs and Yammer -- than not. It's an experiment. The group is off to a great start each maintaining Lean Project blogs each posting about once/week. Yammer is keeping us a little closer together while we work on our projects.

BTW, I would have missed this post had it not been tweeted by someone I follow.

Social Media takes project management to a new level. It makes one to realize their resources & competition.

Yeah, food for thought indeed. Keep me thinking what's there. I don't buy "that's cool so let's try to fit it to our domain" approach but so many wise people jumped in the bandwagon there must be something. I guess. I just don't see real value for now.

And in work-life balance time is the key resource. You never have enough. The only question is how you're going to spend that limited amount you have at hand.

Food for thought, as usual! Thanks, Pawel!

In my case, it's the kids that remind me, where my place is, where I should be. I even bought a PM domain the other day (or was it January?). Time becomes such a scarce 'resource', especially closer to the end of one's life... erm... project.

Cheers!

-Lech
